TV actors in regional films!

Many television actors have bridged the great divide between big and small screens. But with a dearth of exciting offers in B-Town, some of them are trying their luck in regional films.

Karishma Tanna, who has featured in shows like Kyunkii Saans Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Adalat, Baal Veer has done Kannada films I Am Sorry... Matte Banni Preetsona. The tall actress said that she waited a long time before signing one film in Hindi.

TV star of Kasautii Zindagii Kay and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6, Shweta Tiwari has worked in Marathi, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Nepali and yet-to-release Pakistani film.

Barkha Bisht has done telly shows - Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi, Nayi Umr Nayi Chunauti - Parvarrish. And she has acted in Bengali films Dui Prithbi and Ami Shubhash Bolchi.

After doing Kitani Mohabbat Hai, Gumrah End of Innocence on TV Karan Kundra has a hit film Pure Punjabi to his credit. In addition, he has also acted in Jatt Romantic and yet-to-release Mere Yaar Kaminey. Further, Karan has a three-film deal with filmmaker Vikram Bhatt.

Karanvir Bohra has done telly shows Just Mohabbat, Dil Se Di Dua...Saubhagyavati Bhava. He is also acting and produced Punjabi film called Love you Soniye. Since Karanvir owns a production house, he felt it made sense to capitalise on the growing Punjabi film market.

After doing India Calling and Gulaal on TV, Manasi Parekh did a Tamil film called Leelai. Manasi denies that she did the film because she wasn't getting any interesting offers from television or Bollywood.

Surveen Chawla has done Kahiin To Hoga. She has acted in a Kannada movie Paramesha Panwala. she has also starred in some Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Punjabi films.

Vishal Karwal has done Roadies, Dwarkadheesh-Bhagwaan Shri Krishna, Bigg Boss 6 on TV. While Vikram Bhatt's 1920 London is yet to start shooting, Vishal Karwal is trying his luck in a Punjabi film. He feels it is just another way to reach out to more people.

Even though she has been playing the lead role in soap opera Qubool Hai as Zoya, the dimpled beauty Surbhi Jyoti is a popular face in Punjabi movies. She has starred in popular Punjabi movies such as Munde Patiale De and Raula Pai Gaya.
