I have a huge interest in the paranormal: Mitali Nag

With the success of its spooky docu-drama Fear Files, Zee TV now presents an entire series on 'Black Magic' for a month starting 6th April. This series explores the paranormal by delving into various black magic practices around the country.

Many well known actors are part of this like it will see the return of its 'Afsar Bitiya' - Mitali Nag. The actress who became a household name as 'Krishna' in 'Afsar Bitiya', will be a part of the second week's episode (Sunday 14th April) where she plays a young girl - Devyani, who travels to Assam for a holiday with her friends but gets pulled into an adventure of a different kind instead.

"I have a huge interest in the paranormal and have been watching this show ever since it began! Even though the stories often send a chill down my spine, it is one of those shows that I always watch with my friends. I am thrilled to be a part of this episode as I am intrigued by the idea of bringing life back into a dead person. While I know that this story does seem to have a parallel to Frankenstein... I am sure that it will be ten times spookier!" says Mitali about her appearance on the show.

The episode which will be aired on Sunday, April 14, tells the story of a young girl who chances upon black magic practices while on vacation. Set against the backdrop of Kamakhya temple (Assam), a Black Magic practitioner has vowed to put life into a dead person. Devyani and her friends who have gone on a vacation to Assam discover the tenant is up to killing 42 targets to achieve supremacy in black magic. As people around her die, Devyani finds herself being drawn into a tantric's plans to bring a dead person back to life.

Tina Dutta of uttaran to be replaced

After Pratyusha Banerjee aka Anandi of Balika Vadhu, could it be actress Tina Dutta's turn to get replaced in her telly show, Uttaran, where she plays a double role?

Rumours have been doing the rounds since the past few days, especially after one of her characters, Iccha, has been bumped off in the serial. But officials from the production house and channel insist that there is no such move.

REf: times of india

Pratyusha Banerjee has left the show balika vadhu

Balika Vadhu has been top of the charts for four years now. The show started with Anandi as a li’l kid played by Avika Gor, who was then married off to Jagya (Avinash Mukherjee) at a tender age. After two years of success, the makers brought in Pratyusha Banerjee to play the adult Anandi. Due to Pratyusha’s irregular presence at shoots, the production house has now roped in a new actor to take over Anandi’s role – Toral Rasputra.

The actor was last seen in Zee TV’s Chhoti Si Zindagi. She began her career in television with Rishton Ki Dor which did not pan out as well she would have wanted it to. It was Disney Channel Dhoom Machaao Dhoom that put her in the limelight.

Obviously, she wasn’t chosen on the basis of screen tests with her co-actors. So we wonder how the makers zeroed in on Toral then. The writer of Balika Vadhu, Gajra Kottary explains, “Toral is a very good actor and her audition was perfect. We didn’t want an actor who has become a typecast. However, we also required someone with a little experience. Toral was good looking and had the right amount of experience too.”

While we’ll miss Pratyashu, and we wish Toral good luck and hope that she won’t disappoint us.

Jennifer in saraswati chandra by sanjay leela bhansali

Saraswathichandra
Saraswathichandra is a poignant love story of two soul mates:
Saras (role played by Gautam rode) and Kumud (role of kumud played by Jennifer), who are denied the joy of becoming one by destiny and tradition. Whenever they try to move away from each other, life keeps bringing them together again. Their love story goes through several ups and downs. Eventually Kumud gets married to someone else while Saras, out of unconditional love, decides to take care of her family and fulfil duties as the man in her life. It is a classic tale of love and heart ache, pride and prejudice, of yearning and longing between two people who were so close yet not close enough to two people today who are so far from each other yet not far enough in heart.
